FAQ

When and how will I receive my images?

I know you're excited to get your photos! Your images will be delivered 3-4 weeks after your session via a download link that will be emailed to you.

Where will the photoshoot take place?

Photoshoots typically take place at your barn or local venue. However, other locations can be arranged as well!

What do I wear to a Horse & Rider session?

This is completely up to you and whatever you are comfortable in! Most clients choose to go "nice-casual", while others choose full blown show attire. This is about YOU and how you want your images to look.

The Welcome Guide that gets emailed to you after you've booked your session will go over some options for attire if you're stumped or need inspiration!

How should I prepare my horse for the shoot?

The Welcome Guide that gets emailed to you after you've booked your session will go into detail how to best prepare your horse for the big day!

Should my horse wear a halter or a bridle?

That depends! Some horses are better behaved in a bridle, while others could care less! Often times clients will start their horses out in a halter, then switch them into a bridle. It's completely up to you and the look you prefer.

What if my horse is not cooperating?

As an owner of a spicy young horse, this resonates deep within me. While I have several tactics to help in situations like this, sometimes horses just have bad days and want no part in being photographed. If this happens, I will reschedule your shoot for a later date at no additional charge.

The Welcome Guide that gets emailed to you after you've booked your session will also go over ways to prep your horse for photoshoot day if you know they might be a bit "extra".

What if I don't have a dark barn for black background photos?

Don't panic, we can make it work! Very rarely do I come across a situation where a BBG session can't be done. We will discuss all location possibilities prior to your shoot, and I will bring a backdrop if needed.

Do you charge more for multiple horses?

Not at all! I will fit as many horses into your session time as you wish. Keep it mind, the more horses in the shoot, the less overall photos each one will have. Keep in mind, if you have several horses you'd like photographed, you may want to consider doing the Horse & Rider II session to allow for more time and more photos!

What happens if the weather isn't ideal?

Ah, yes. The lovely weather of the PNW can be quite challenging, can't it? I will do my best to monitor the weather and aim to give you 24-48 hours notice if it looks like we will need to reschedule. There is no charge for rescheduling the photoshoot due to bad weather or unforeseen circumstances. If you decide to cancel the photoshoot all together, please know that you will forfeit your non-refundable deposit.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

Yes. All sessions require a 25% non-refundable retainer upon booking to secure your session date and time.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a minimum of 48 hours notice for all photoshoot cancellations or reschedules. If you cancel your photoshoot with less than 48 hours notice, you agree to forfeit your non-refundable retainer. If 48 hours notice is given, you may reschedule for a later date and may apply your deposit towards the new date.

Are there any travel expenses?

I currently travel up to 30 miles from 98087. Anything further will incur a 58.5 cent travel fee per mile, per the IRS travel rates for 2022. https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-issues-standard-mileage-rates-for-2022

How far will you travel?

The limit does not exist. Feel free to contact me to discuss your dream session!

Can I post my photos on social media?

YES! I only ask that you refrain from posting screenshots of images or proofs. Please only post images that you've paid for and received from me directly.

What if I want something different than what you have on your website?

I am ALWAYS up for creativity and collaboration! Send me a message so we can discuss your vision, and how to make it come to life!
